Summary
As the Senior Project Manager, Sophia Velez leads EduDream’s internal and client project management processes while fostering the organization’s client and partnership relations. She also plays a pivotal role as the manager of EduDream’s K12 Research for Equity Hub (The Hub), coordinating The Hub’s research projects and facilitating key stakeholder connections. Proud of her Mexican-American roots and inspired by the world of opportunity education has afforded her as a first-generation college graduate, Sophia is dedicated to advancing educational equity and championing community-centered policy change.

- BA in Political Science, Minors in Ethnic Studies, Environmental Politics, and Global Environmental Sustainability from Colorado State University
Previous Experience
Sophia brings over a decade of experience in human-centered organizational capacity-building and project management. Before joining EduDream, she honed her operations, program management, communications, and strategic planning skills while working with youth-serving nonprofits on both national and international scales. Sophia’s background also extends into higher education, coordinating programs for first-year students and grassroots policy work at the state and local levels.
