Our Framework
Research done with communities, not to communities
We elevate the cultures, lived experiences, and needs of stakeholders impacted by systemic inequities as we engage in partnerships
Culturally Responsive and Equitable Evaluation (CREE) is an equity-centered framework to elevate the voices and needs of racially and economically diverse students, families, and communities within research. EduDream combines CREE principles and rigorous research methods to produce insights that catalyze impactful action — with, and for, communities. Our approaches to research, community relationships, and client collaboration lead to more innovative strategies and greater long-term results across the education sector.
What is CREE?
Research done with communities, not to communities
What is CREE
A culturally sensitive lens
We maintain a level of humility when learning about cultures, understanding there is always more to learn. We highlight the lived experiences within and between groups to reveal the intersectionality of culture and its influence on program outcomes and implementation.
Participatory and culturally appropriate research methods
We engage communities in a process of co-creation to inform our work. We adapt our methods and data collection tools to align with research plans that consider cultural context, language, and the lived experience of community members.
Flexible and context-specific research designs
As we continue to learn about the community we are working with, we may pivot or adopt new approaches that are better suited for the particular community group.
What CREE is not
- A universalistic, Eurocentric lens
- Methods that prioritize objectivity and generalizability
- Standard instruments developed with predominantly white samples
- Rigid protocols that prioritize adherence to predetermined research designs
We use a unique process that shifts power to individuals most impacted
We’re proud to be a Latina-founded, women-owned research consulting firm with more than 20 years of experience. Because of our backgrounds and love for our communities, we understand the crucial need to elevate, honor, and celebrate the voices of racially and economically diverse students, families, and communities to transform our education system.
