EduDream - Featured Insight

The Project Goals

EduDream was commissioned by Big Shoulders Fund (BSF) to conduct a community needs assessment in the Northwest Indiana region to focus on three communities, East Chicago, Gary, and Hammond. Data analysis was used to develop community profiles. Educational policy changes and their implications on school performance were examined.

The Project Outcome

A final report and PowerPoint presentation of findings and recommendations were developed and presented to the client. Findings were then used to design and pilot a program that targeted and was responsive to student and family needs in the three communities of East Chicago, Gary, and Hammond in Northwest Indiana.

BSF used the needs assessment findings to fund the communities’ schools access to technology, classroom resources, and educator coaching, as well as initiatives to increase student enrollment and financial support for families.
